Mental fitness is just as important as physical fitness. Healthy bodies are only complete with healthy minds. Yes, we eat right, exercise and more and of course, this helps the brain. We experience better blood circulation…more endorphins…but physical activity to help the body and mind is only part of the equation.
A healthy mind includes some mental “lifting”. There are plenty of things you already do that help your mind such as reading, daydreaming and finding humor. These are great to help the brain but there are even more specific things you can do to boost mental function. Here are three things to help the brain.
- Stop multitasking. Believe it or not, doing many things at once is not the greatest for you brain. Focus on one thing at a time to boost the brain.
- Be positive. Working on being happy, seeing the bright side, looking for the silver lining and more happy thoughts are good for the mind.
- Try new things. New foods, new routes to work, new music, new wake up time. Trying new things is great for the mind!
So, join us in as we do some mental lifting this spring time to boost our brain function and keep a healthy mind! If we’re going for a good “summer bod” this spring, let’s bring a healthy mind with us.
